INFORMATION

TRAVEL

Ski Moments does not provide travel to and from Méribel. We feel that this gives you more choice and flexibility. We can however, recommend various transfer and taxi services which provide transfers to and from Geneva, Lyon and Chambery airports. We are happy to book them for you but please ensure your transfer requirements are included with your booking to give us sufficient time to make the necessary arrangements on your behalf. If we do not receive transfer details at the earliest possible time Ski Moments cannot be held responsible for failure to book the required transfers.

Other options include hiring a car or taking the public buses. If you travel by train, Ski Moments recommends taking a taxi from the taxi rank directly outside Moutiers railway station.

Travel by car: Méribel is approximately 600 miles from the channel ports and is served by motorway to within 12 miles of the resort. Tolls are approximately £50 each way. Printable directions to the Chalet can be found on the availability page.

Travel by air:  Geneva, Lyon and Chambery are served by flights from a number of destinations in the UK:

Travel by train:  Méribel is served by Moutiers station, which is half an hour transfer time from Méribel.  A number of options are available and include direct services from London Waterloo and Ashford to Moutiers or via Lille and Paris connecting with SNCF services to Moutiers.

  Travel by coach:  A very cost effective way of travelling to Méribel.  The direct coach departs from London Victoria coach station late Friday afternoon and arrives in Méribel on Saturday morning.

CHANGEOVER DAY

Unless prior arrangements have been made, your chalet will be available for occupancy from 4pm on your day of arrival.  You will need to vacate your chalet by 10am on your day of departure.  We would like to ask all our guests to be flexible on this day so that everybody’s travel arrangements can be accommodated.

TRANSFERS

Transfers from Geneva or Lyon airports take approximately 2½ hours and transfers from Chambery take approximately 1½ hours.  Please note in the event of adverse weather conditions or heavy traffic, these times may vary.

Car rental:  A very cost effective way of travelling between the airport and Méribel.

Check with your chosen airline for their preferred car hire company.  Most companies will supply cars with winter tyres or snow chains but Ski Moments recommends that you check this at the time of booking.

SKI SCHOOLS

Ski Moments recommends a number of English speaking ski schools in Méribel.  We are happy to arrange lessons on your behalf and will try to tailor your individual needs to the appropriate school.  Please let us know your requirements when you book.

SKI HIRE

Ski Moments uses the services of a mobile ski fitting service who come and fit you in the comfort of the chalet.  We will provide you with a pre-booking/information form which should be returned at your earliest convenience.

SKI INSURANCE

Ski Moments recommends that you have a medical/holiday and ski insurance package.  We realise that most of our guests have annual policies, however, if you do not we can recommend the following companies:

Additionally Ski Moments highly recommends that when purchasing your lift pass you take out the local carre neige insurance at €2.50 per day.

CHILD CARE

Ski Moments does not provide child care facilities.  We are however, happy to organise and book appropriate child care for you, either in the chalet or at outside crèche facilities.
